How redditbot.dev Works, and How to Use It Safely

redditbot.dev doesn't hit Reddit through a hidden API. It works in a real browser, the way a person does. Here's the full loop, and how to use it responsibly.

The loop, step by step

  • Log in. The bot opens a real Chrome window on a cloud desktop and signs in to your Reddit account.
  • Scan. It checks your target subreddit for new posts and skips ones it has already handled.
  • Read. It opens each post and reads the title and body.
  • Draft. An AI model writes a short, on-topic comment, a few sentences, with no filler like "great post!".
  • Post. It clicks and types the way a person would, then confirms the comment actually went through.
  • Follow up. It tracks the comments and posts it made, and replies when people respond, continuing the conversation.

Why a real browser

Working through an actual browser session means the bot uses the same pages and buttons you would. Each job boots a fresh cloud desktop, does its work, saves its state, and shuts down, so nothing is running around the clock on your behalf.

Ground rules for staying in good standing

  • Follow each subreddit's rules, including on promotion and links.
  • Be useful first. The comments should answer the question, not advertise.
  • Use sensible volume. More comments per day isn't always better, and every plan has a daily limit for a reason.
  • Review what's been posted. You are responsible for what your accounts say.
  • Don't use it to mislead people, manipulate votes, or harass anyone.

A note on risk

No tool can promise your account will never be flagged. Reddit and individual moderators decide what's acceptable, and the rules change. redditbot.dev is designed to behave like a considerate user, but the best protection is relevant, helpful content in communities that welcome it.
