Best Subreddits for Marketing by Niche: SaaS, Ecommerce, Agencies and Creators

There's no universal "best subreddit for marketing". The right communities depend on who you sell to. Here's a starting list by niche, and a quick way to check each one before you commit.

Before you use any list

Subreddits change their rules often, and many ban self-promotion outright. Treat every name below as a candidate, not a recommendation. Read the rules in the sidebar, look at what gets upvoted, and check recent removed posts before you target any of them.

SaaS and software

  • r/SaaS: founders discussing pricing, growth and tooling.
  • r/startups and r/Entrepreneur: broad founder communities. Large, so comments need to be early and specific.
  • r/smallbusiness: owners asking which tools to use. Good for practical, problem-solving answers.
  • Tool-specific communities (for the software your product integrates with), where users ask how to do things.

Ecommerce and DTC brands

  • r/ecommerce and r/shopify: store owners discussing apps, ads and fulfillment.
  • Hobby and product-category communities where your customers spend time, such as fitness, cooking, outdoors or home.
  • "Buy it for life" style communities, where people ask for durable recommendations. Most of them strictly ban brand promotion, so read carefully.

Agencies and freelancers

  • r/marketing, r/digital_marketing and r/PPC: practitioners comparing tactics.
  • r/SEO: technical discussion. Answers need real depth.
  • r/freelance: questions about clients, pricing and tooling.
  • Industry communities for the clients you serve, where you can answer questions as an expert.

Creators and personal brands

  • Communities around your topic, not around "growing an audience". People follow experts, not marketers.
  • Platform communities (for YouTube, newsletters, podcasts) for creator-to-creator discussion.

A five-minute fit check

  • Are there several new text posts a day? Too quiet means nobody sees your comment; too busy means it gets buried.
  • Do posts ask questions your product or expertise can answer?
  • Do the rules allow mentioning your own product, and under what conditions?
  • Do helpful, detailed comments get upvoted, or does the community prefer jokes?
